- I
Once more upon my native hills.
Ill see the spreading shamrocks bloom
And listen to the laughing rills.
Whose music cheers my native home.
Again Ill hear the lark's sweet song.
Loud carolled from and azure sky.
Again in peace Ill rove among,
The flower that glad the weary eye.
II
Again by bright Borora's stream.
Ill see the silvery fish at play
When fluttering in the morning beam.
The Cuckoo flits from spray to spray.
Again (by) the merry milkmaids voice.
Whilst hope my bounding bosom thrills
Shall make my heart of hearts rejoice
While roaming oer my native hills.
III
I've dwelt mid scenes sublime and fair.
In other climes and lands afar.
But ever turned my visions where
At evening shone the eastern star.
And memory ever dwelt beside.
