- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)went one night to dog this fort, and when he had it it nearly dug, a rough blast of wind came, and blinded the two eyes in his head. When he went home, he only lived two hours. It was gold he was seeking for, and that was why he wanted to dig up the fort.
- A poet who died two years ago was John Farrelly, best known as "John the Jobber." Most of his poems were connected with local events. Here is a bit of one of his poems. It is connected with the opening of the Protestant Hall.
