    stone, but it is almost blotted out with age. When Father Meehan (R.I.P.) was parish priest in Killinkere he gathered all the old stones, and monuments in the country and had them brought to his house, but nobody knows what happened to them since he died.

  2. There is an old monument in a field of Mrs Connell's in the townland of Ballaghanea. There were two giants long ago and they began to fight. One killed the other and he buried him there. This grave goes under the name
