- The cure of the mumps.
In the past a child found suffering from the mumps was taken by an old woman to a pig sty with a donkeys winkers on it head and this old women who possessed the cure, would walk the affected child three times round the pig sty saying, "muc má, muc má, sin a go the leckme" and this is said to be the cure.
A second cure also believed in is, the sufferer was put to creep under an ass, or as it is better known, as under the asses belly and this like the last had to be done three times.
