    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    Before the thatching is started a small rake is got and some of the old thatch is raked off. Then fresh straw is pulled and put into handfulls. Then the thatcher gets scollops and break's them in the middle with a wooden hammer. He then goes up on the roof and puts a handfull of straw on the roof and putting scollop on every handfull. He then comes down to the eaves and according as he is coming down he is thatching. When he comes down to the eaves he goes back up to the top of the roof again. He keeps coming down and going up untill he has the roof thatched. When the thatching is finished long straws are hanging from the eaves. Thoes straws are cut off and line wire is put on it to keep the wind from blowing the thatch away. Then when the thatching is finished a barel of water is through on the thatch.
