- Long ago the people used to say many prayers which they do not say now. The following is a list of prayers.
1) This night I lie down to sleep I give my soul to God to rest and if I die before I waken I give my soul to God to keep.
There are four corners on my bed. There are four angels over-head, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John, God bless the bed that I lie on
2) Heart of Jesus I adore.
Heart of Mary I implore,
in these three hearts I put my trust Jesus, Mary and Joseph I give you my heart. Lord hear my prayer
3) I see the new moon and the new moon sees me. God bless the new moon and God bless me. Grace to the kitchen and grace to the hall but God's grace is best of all.
4) As I lie down on my right side,
As Jesus did on Mary's knee,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
