People believe that it is unlucky to begin work on certain days. One of those unlucky days is Saturday.
1. There is an old proverb which says, "Saturdays flitting makes short sitting. It is not lucky to go to a new house on Saturday.
2. It is unlucky to start anything or to wear anything new on Saturday.
3. It is unlucky to dig a grave on a Tuesday.
4. It is unlucky to throw out ashes on the first day of May.
5. If it rains on Hallow Eve night it will rain for forty days and forty nights.
6. If Candlemas Day be bright and clear it leaves two Winters in the one
