- The above sketch was taken of a grisset found at Drumliff, Crosskeys. It is in a perfect state of preservation and is in the writers possession. The workmanship is, in my opinion, too good to be the product of a local blacksmith. In fact it appears to have been moulded. it, however, is the only one of four or five that I have seen in this locality which is of well polished finish.
If there was a Gaelic term for grisset here, I cannot discover but in Glencolumkille, Donegal, it was called ? Cam. This little iron article was used in conjuction with with rush candlestick. It was used as a constraint for grease or tallow used in making candles. Only people well(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
