Ar an leathanach seo

  1. It is a wild herb which grows in old bogs, or swampy land. The older generation used it for colds, it is a plant with a long stem, much like the common docking. It is boiled in a pot for some time. When strained it is put into bottles. It is given in small quantities to the person who is suffering from the cold.

    The herbs that grow on our farm are.
    Switch-grass, Deaf-nettle, Chicken-weed, Crow-foot, Hemlock and Dockens. The worst of these weeds is Switch-grass for when the potatoes are set the Switch-grass grows around the potatoes, and they never be much good. It is very hard to get rid off the Switch-grass.
