  1. About forthy years ago a football match was played in the Bo-meadow between Castletara Sarsfields and the Sons of Uisneach. The Castletara Sarsfields was the name of the local team and the Sons of Uisneach was the name of the Butlersbridge team. This match ended in a draw. Twenty one men were on each side and two referees. The uniform which they wore was green jumpers and knee-breeches long black stockings and green caps. James Teaven was the referee for the local team and Edward Callaghan was their captain. Two posts were stuck in the ground and a rope tied between them and
