- The weeds growing on my father's farm at home are the chicken-weed, deaf-nettle, red-shank, black-heads, crow-foot, scutch-grass, "baughlons", burdocks, nettle, spratt, dockens, cuckoo-sarl, bishop-weed, meadow-sweet, mints, ferns, rushes, dandelion, and thistle.
