Ar an leathanach seo
- Very few know anything about the Wicklow hero Thomas Myler who was born and reared in a district known as "the Brook" in Arklow who fought in the American war for Independence.
Both sides had fought until the only way to decide the battle was to hoist a flag, and which ever side hoisted it the first won and so like all true Irishmen Myler ran and was first in the race.
Although riddled with bullets he succeeded in hoisting the flag thus winning the victory.
The American Government gave him a pension while he lived.
He went to bathe one day in Courtown Harbour and was drowned.
