- There are many things which people used in olden times as cures. Sometimes people used to get a green Leech from the water A Leech is got in the river It is like an eel only it is green and is not as long When a man was hurt the Leech would be put to his hip
The Leech would be put on the man's hip. The leech would take the bad blood out of the man. Then the leech would be taken and put on a plate. Then salt would be thrown on him. The leech would cough up the blood. Then the leech would be put in a bottle of water and kept there untill someone else would be hurt.
To cure a sting of a nettle people used to get a dock leaf and put it on the sting.
To cure the chin-cough they used to be thrown under an ass and make the sign(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
