  1. There is no tailor in Ballyrahan. There were two tailors in the district of Ballyrahan. They used to work at their homes. There was another tailor living in Ballyrahan and he used to go to every house in Ballyhonogue mending clothes and making them. Cloth is not spun or woven locally. Shirts are not made in the district. Stockings were knitted by woman named Murphy but they are not knitted locally now. The people would rather wear shop stockings now. There was a woman living in Ballyrahan and she used to spin thread. Her name was Doyle. The spinning wheel was kept till a few years ago. Some people wear green clothes on St Patrick's Day.

  2. The tailor uses a sewing machine for sewing the cloth. He uses a foot machine and he works it with his foot. He uses a scissors for cutting the cloth and he uses a needle for sewing the parts that cannot be sown by a machine. Shirts are not made in the homes.
