  1. My Granny told me that about the year 1902 there was a great many sappers and miners in Aughrim. They were English men who were mapping the country.
    There was one man whose name was Mr. He stayed in the Post Office.
    One day he was sick and he went to Doctor O Gorman. The Doctor gave him an injection and he fell asleep and never woke and it is said (it is said) that this man (this man) is seen every night on Ardee Row but some people hear (its) his footsteps.
