- Shops were not common in olden days. People had to go to nearest town to buy their goods Buying & selling was carried on after Mass. This is still done.Food was sold such as bread flour

Markets were held in a hall in Rathdrum. It is not done now.
There were hugters[?] & pedlars & dealers
They come to the houses still.
Boot, lick, change.
There was a four shilling piece in use.
