- We have a churn at home and it is about two feet high.
It has a handle and when we are churning we turn it around.
There are a great many churns around here like that.
Some people have dash-churns and when they are churning they put the dash up and down.
When they are making the butter they make it with butter spades.
When anyone comes in they always help at the churning.
It is said that it is a lucky thing to do.
All the churns around here are nearly all old ones.
Ours was bought during the Great War and it is as good as ever now.My Grandmother Mrs. Annie McGowan age 67 years told me this on the 7th of May 1938.
