In Wicklow the birds commonly found are, the robin, the crow, the thrush, the magpie, the blackbird and the wren.

Some of the birds migrate in the winter. The swallows and the cuckoo do not stay with us in the winter, the swallows come to us in the month of May and they go away in the month of August. The cuckoo comes in April and in the month of July she goes away to a hot country.
The robin builds its nest in a hedge, it builds it with moss, grass, feathers, wool and hair. The robin lays five small white eggs.
The crow builds his nest in te tops of high trees, and he makes it with sticks
