    The buttermilk is released out of the churn by taking out the "biorn"
    Then the butter is washed a few times in the churn before it is placed in the butterworker which is used when large quantities of butter are available.
    It is then salted and as much water as possible taken out of it.
    The buttermilk is used for making bread.
    It is also given to pigs and calves and it is also given to the hens to drink.
    It is also supposed to be very good for the complexion and a cure for freckles.
    Stories.
    1 People in olden times very were supposed to be able to take one's butter or profit accordingly there were certain ways of preventing this.
    1 By putting a pinch of salt into the churn before starting to churn.
    2 If anyone came in of whom they were suspicious an iron would be cast immediately into the fire
