Ar an leathanach seo

  1. There was a Whipping Camp in Bushfield (near Knockanargan) in '98.
Thomas Head, Knockindarragh, got twenty lashes there, to tell what he knew of the pikes. The pikes were made in Knockindarragh, in a forge near where Graces now live. Grace was in hiding, because he had been accused of giving information. He had married a Miss Metcalfe, whose father was shot by rebels. Grace escaped.
In Wicklow pikes were noted - there was a hatchet on each pike, also a crook to cut a rein.
Many were whipped in the Bushfield camp, to give information.
There were not many Protestants in Glen Imaal at this time. The Glen was not "planted" until after '98.
There is no record of a visit from Cromwell at all. He went down the other side of the County, and marched to Wexford.
