- "Laying" a spiritIn Talbotstown Chapel, about the year 1820 Kenna was "laid". Kennas were a Protestant family. There was a Catholic man, a servant in the house, named John Duffy. Duffy and Kenna were always differing about religion, but when Kenna was dying he sent for Duffy. Duffy had been put away by Kenna's sons on account of the argument about religion. And when Kenna was on his deathbed, he sent for Duffy, and gave him twenty pounds to go to Baltinglass for a priest. Duffy didn't go for the priest.
