    Long ago salt was roasted and put in the stocking around the neck. It was believed to be a cure for sore throat.
    To cure whooping cough
    Long ago it was believed that to crawl under a donkey's legs was a cure for whooping cough.
    To cure tooth ache
    To cure tooth ache, long ago people used to melt washing soda and pour it into the tooth, this stopped the pain for a while but afterwards it would decay the teeth.
    To make ointment the people grew a plant called rue. This they fried in lard, and it was a cure for any kind of cuts.
