Ar an leathanach seo

  1. In olden times fish was used more than meat. The fish used be caught on the banks of Newfoundland and would be cured. When cured they would be put in heaps to dry. Then they would be packed in boxes and sent over the world. This fish was called ling fish.
    Vegetables were also used. White turnips, cabbage and beet roots were the principal vegetables. In the spring nettles were used. All those except cabbage are now gone out of fashion. About eight o'clock was the latest hour which they used eat.
    Tea first came into existence here about 100 years ago and then it was so scarce that for a
