Some remain three weeks and others longer. They sleep in caravans out side the town. They are able to buy the best of food. They do not look for alms they look for old boots and clothes. They travel along in the caravans. They travel in families. The best known in this town are Walls and McCanns. They nearly always arrive on Fridays and on fair days. They bring no news to the town. The people do not go near them because they are very rough.
