An old man, named Mc Donald, lived in Johnstown. He made a song about a landlord, named Carter for evicting a man from his home. Mr. Mc Donald was buried in Benekerry Cemetery. He was a ploughman.
The following are some of the words of the song

"It was the heartless, cruel eviction of one John Kehoe,
By a treacherous, landlord, named Carter of Mayo.
(Mayo, in Leix, about seven miles from Carlow)
The day he was evicted, it would cause your heart to feel.
For the landlord, he came tramping all on his iron heel"
