  1. Lismooney
The name of my townland is Lismooney. It is in the parish of Kinnitty, and the barony of Bally Britt. There are eleven families in it and the most of the houses are slated. There are about forty people in it.
There were more people in it long ago, because there are many ruins of old houses. There is a ruin in our farm and it is called "Penny-Father's house". It is in the Furze Hills, about a half a mile from our houses. The chief crops grown are, potatoes, oats, barley, wheat, turnips and mangolds. The townland got it's name from a prince named Muma who also gave his name to the province of Munster. There is no common name in the townland. It is a fairly big townland. The biggest farm in it is our own, Mrs. B. Donnelly, Lismooney, Kinnitty, Co. Offaly. Lismooney is about a mile away from the village of Kinnitty. Mr. Denis Rigney, Lismooney, Kinnitty, Co. Offaly can make baskets.
