- Up to seventeen years ago spinning was carried on in my house. First of all wool was got from the sheep and it was teased and combed and washed then it was sprinkled with olive oil and carded. It was then put into spinning rolls and put on the spinning wheel and spun into thick (coarse) thread, It was then put on a smaller wheel on the same spinning wheel and spun into finer thread.
There was two wheels on the same spinner a big one for the thick thread and a smaller one for the finer thread. When it was spun into the fine thread the people knitted jumpers, caps, and small blankets for(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
