  1. About twenty acres of potatoes are grown in my town-land every year. They are generally sown in April and are picked in October.
    The ground is ploughed and when the clay is fine enough the drills are opened.
    The manure is then brought out in loads and are about twelve yards apart. The potatoes are then sown and the manure is put on the top.
    The drills are closed and after a week the drills are levelled.
