He jumped to his feet and looking over, there sat a piper on the rock, dressed in green with large silver shoes on his feet, and a long white beard that reached to his waist, and in his hands was a bag-pipes on which he was playing lively music. The rock was surrounded by a crowd of tiny men. who were dancing merrily up and down. After some time one little man came over and said "Hello Páid, why aren't you dancing" and he caught him by the hand and led him over to dance.When they were a while dancing Páid began to feel sleepy and suddenly he fell on the ground and dropped off to sleep amid the cheering of the dancers. When he woke up it was clear daylight and the countryside was covered with a white frost. He was shivering with cold and his clothes drenched. He ran home as fast as he could, and when his wife saw him, she said he well deserved what he got. And that is why the(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
