hundreds were cured from the disease called "Black Fever" by drinking some of this water. A priest named Fr McCabe made the people drink this water. When old people come about the place they always get a drink of this water especially if they have a sore throat. because the "Black Fever"was a disease in the throat. Before Fr McCabe died he got a drink out of the well, and when he had it drank he said that the people of Tubberdaly would never suffer thirst.
