- Sylvester O Neill of Moneytucker, Enniscorthy says that there is gold hidden under a holly tree at Ballymackessy, Enniscorthy.It was hidden many years ago by a man named Malachy Doyle who had his dwelling near by.
Many people who are dead and gone laboured hard to get this crock of gold and failed.
The roots of the holly tree can be seen, showing that many efforts have been made to secure the gold. The old people say that the best and safest plan to secure the hidden treasure is to soak a piece of woollen thread in Holy water and make a circle round the place where the gold is supposed to be and dig with all might and strength till the crock of gold appears.

A man named Vero lived in Ballyeden a long time ago. He was a landlord of Ballyeden and Ballybrennan. He had a bog on his farm, this bog had a pond in the middle of it. In the pond a serpent was supposed to be, it used to appear every night.
The serpent did no one any harm.
