In this district there is a place, called Cullens of the fort. It was formerly known as Quinns of the fort. This fort is about sixty feet long, and and forty feet wide. On three sides of it there is a large trench of water, which is ten feet wide, and from six to eight feet deep. On the Eastern side stood the old dwelling or rath. Inside of the water is a large ditch about eight feet high. About fifty years ago a company of people came at midnight to dig for gold and as they were digging a band of crows came and flew down on them. And after that the owners would not permit anyone to go near it anymore. There ia another rath apart from it and lights were seen going from one rath to another.
