    About 70 or 80 years ago there were many of the old crafts practiced in this part of the country.
    We have records of thefollowing:- Hat making. Candle making.
    Barrel + tub makers (Coopers)
    Rope making. Spade making.
    Nailers - Dyers. Weavers.
    "Distiillers" (of the illicit type mostly)
    Baskets - brooms
    and old style Brogue makers.
    All these are now obsolete - only the memory of these crafts survive
    The descendents of the old Craftsmen - know all about these lost arts but do not practice them.
