Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Between the years 1846-47 many people died of hunger and disease. This was the famine time.
    A family named Radford who lived on the Mountain of Forth that time died of a terrible disease called cholera. No one would bury them except an old travelling man who lived with them. He dug the grave and coffened them himself. Only one man of the family survived.
    It was on account of the failure of the potato crop that the famine came. "Champions" were the principal potatoes grown in our district that time. They blackened and then the people had nothing to eat.
    The begining of a song made about the famine is all I can get
    "The first downfall poor Ireland got
    The champions they went black"
    People lived on potatoes then. A man said that "he would eat them morning, noon and evening" and
