Co. Wexford.About twenty years ago there was a famous Tug-o'-war team called the "Newcastle in this locality.
This team was composed of ten men each weighing from ten to thirteen stones. These men never knew defeat.
William White, Heavenstown was Captain, Patrick Kehoe, Kilmannon Anchor's man, and the late Nick Carroll, Poulmannon, Coacher.
They pulled against Bree, Enniscorthy, Taghmon, Wexford, Killurin, Rosslare, Bridgetown, Norristown and other teams.
