    Here I am the Captain bold
    who leads no rebel throng.
    But a chosen band of heroes Grand
    To the Bridges we do belong.
    With mirth and sport we do resort
    This place of good cheer.
    First he was the Great Prince George

    The next he is St Patrick
    The Patron of our isle
    And mighty Napoleon next steps in
    The conqueror of renoun
    Closed followed by Lord Wellington
    He swears he will put him down
    The Emperor of Russia next comes in
    In costly robes he's dressed
    He is a terror to the great signor
    And a glory to the rest
    Lord Nelson next comes in
    And he by his great talk is known
    The grand signor is known by the badge he wears
    And next comes the Doctor last but not least
    This is one of the rhymes which was recited about forty or fifty years ago. Mumming is a very common amusement in this part of the county, but it is unknown in other parts. This year and last year there was a set of mummers in this townsland. They were known as the Bridge Heart-breakers. Each
