- Mummers Rhyme:Here I am the Captain bold
who leads no rebel throng.
But a chosen band of heroes Grand
To the Bridges we do belong.
With mirth and sport we do resort
This place of good cheer.
First he was the Great Prince George
May Fortune on him smile
The next he is St Patrick
The Patron of our isle
And mighty Napoleon next steps in
The conqueror of renoun
Closed followed by Lord Wellington
He swears he will put him down
The Emperor of Russia next comes in
In costly robes he's dressed
He is a terror to the great signor
And a glory to the rest
Lord Nelson next comes in
And he by his great talk is known
The grand signor is known by the badge he wears
And next comes the Doctor last but not leastThis is one of the rhymes which was recited about forty or fifty years ago. Mumming is a very common amusement in this part of the county, but it is unknown in other parts. This year and last year there was a set of mummers in this townsland. They were known as the Bridge Heart-breakers. Each(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
