There is a rhyme about the days for getting on -
Monday for health,
Tuesday for wealth,
Wednesday the best day of all,
Thursday for losses,
Friday for crosses,
And Saturday no day at all.
Matches are made in this district. Money is given a fortune. On a wedding day the couple go to the church and get married. Then they go home to the house of the bride and have the wedding breakfast. When breakfast is over the wedding guests start a dance and remain over till night. That night all the neighbours gather in and have a big "spree." "Fools" visit the house that night. Some people dress up in rags and put an "eye fiddle" or mask on them and go in around the house and if they didn't get sweet-cake or whiskey they would go out and do some divilment.
