  1. St Brigid's day - People bring candles to the Chapel for the Priest to bless them. Then they bring them home. They light them when anyone is seriously ill or dying.
    People visit the Shrine of St Brigid in Kildare on that day
    St Patrick's day - People wear shamrocks on that day to remind them of the time when the Saint plucked a shamrock and pointed out that there are three persons in the Blessed Trinity just as there are three leaves on a shamrock. People send shamrock to their friends across the sea to wear.
    Shrovetide - Many marriages occur in Shrovetide.
    Shrove Tuesday - People make pancakes on that night
    Ash Wednesday - People go to the chapel to receive blessed ashes on their foreheads and to remind them that they are only dust and ashes. "Thou art but dust and into dust Thou shalt return"
    Holy Thursday - The bishop consecrates the holy oils
    Good Friday - People go to the chapel to kiss the Cross and make the Way of the Cross
