The food in olden days was a lot different than nowadays.

The food in olden days was a lot different than nowadays.
They had flumery for drinking made out of the shell of oats it was steeped in water for some days.
Griddle bread was a great favourite. At dinner time the potatoes were thrown up on a skip in the middle of the floor and all sat around and eat them.
They also believed if the coffee pot rocks on the stone or fire a visitor is coming.
If the soup continues to boil after is has been drawn back from the fire the cook will live to a good old age.
If you burn the bread when you are baking someone is angry with you.
It is unlucky to put your chair back in its place after the first meal you eat in a house as a visitor, you will never come there again.
