    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    In the year 1869 Martin's Election was held. Martin was an Newry Presbyterian who endured great suffering in Van Diemans Land on account of his rising in rebellion with the "Young Ireland Party".
    He was opposed by a man named Greville. Greville had the aid of the clergy and that is why he succeeded in being elected. At meeting before the elections police were called on to quell a riot. Greville was only a luke warm Irishman.
    "Party Factions" were common in localities in South Longford where the election was held. The Leaders were often in the pay of Dublin Castle to urge on "Party Faction so as to blacken the name of a
