Old Saying for Money
A halfpenny used to be called a "make" and a penny was a "wing" and a three penny bit a "kids eye", a sixpence a "tanner",a shilling a "bob", a ten shilling note "Bradbury" and a pound a "quid".People who used to get things for nothing used to say they got it on the "Cathleen Movurnin system".
It may be for years and it may be for ever. Shops were as common in the older times as they are now.
