- The travelling folk in this district are few. The best known of them are the O'Learys and McDonaghs. They come in families and stay for a few days at a time. They stay in camps and Caravans. They make gallons and porringers and mend all kinds of tin things. They sell these at houses and to shopkeepers. They make polish brushes out of horse-hair and sell them too. Some of them go round begging for things such as bread, bacon and flour. They have special places for staying when they come to this district. Some of them buy the things they need. They don't come very often.
