- There is alot of days in the year to which there are old customs attached. There is an old custom on "Old Christmas Night" to light the pieces of the candles that are left over from Christmas on a table or a stool. It is said that whoever is sitting opposite the candle that dies out first will die first. St. Bridget's Day the people make a cross of rushes in her honour. It is left hanging in the house for the whole year.
On St. Patrick's Day the men wear shamrocks in their hats. The girls wear ribbons and Patrick's badges and they also wear Patrick's crosses.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
