- There is a Fort in the townland of Melka about one mile from the town of Drumlish. It is surrounded by old bushes with ivy growing on them. There are flags in the fort with writing on them. Some people say it is the grave of Dermot and others say that it is a place where Dermot and Grannia rested when they were being pursued by Soldiers. Nothing more is known of this up to the present. There is a mass field a short distance from it in the townland of Monaduff. Mass was said in this field in Penal days. There are stones to mark the place where mass was said. There is also a fort in the townland of Derawley. It is half a mile from Melka fort. There is a story told about it thus - At one time a man named John Carolan lived along the road near the fort. The track of his house is there still. He was always out late at night.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
