- The townland I live in is called Lissanurlan and it is in the parish of Longford. There are about ten families in our townland. There are eighty people in it. There are a lot of trees around it. There is only one man over seventy of age and he can tell stories in English but not Irish he is a loan man he lives in a thatched house by himself. His name is James Murray. In olden times there was a lot more houses in the townland. There is a very big wood in our place and there are a lot of trees in it. It is about four hundred yards long and about twenty yards wide. There are a few songs about our townland. Long ago they were a lot more people in the townland but now there is not as much.
