    When he had the potatoes dug he had to let the cows in on the pasture, and if he let them in they would eat the potatoes and might choke.
    He thought of a plan, and this is what it was there was a big tree growing in the middle of the field between the potato crop and the pasture. He left the blind boy sitting at the butt of the tree so that when the cattle would see the boy, they would not go by him into the part of the field where the heaps of potatoes were.
    On a certain day the boy heard a noise coming down through the branches. When it reached the ground, the boy stretched over his hand and lifted up a fiddle and bow, and from that till he died, he was the best fiddler in the country.

  2. One night three or four men were playing cards in a neighbour's house. They saw a dog under the table, the dog began to growl. Some of the men asked who owned the dog, and gave him a kick. The dog ran out from under the table
