- There were different kinds of bread made in olden time such as potato bread boxty bread and oat meal bread. There was enough of bread baked in one day to last a week. The name of the vessel in which the bread was baked was a pot oven. Sometimes water was used when kneading but people usually milk.
Indian meal bread was also used in olden times there was not much bread baked only boxty bread. This was made by rasping raw potatoes into a basin. Then it was strained. About half a pound of mashed(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
