- In Saints Island townland there is a cemetery and in olden times there was no road from Drummee to Saints Island but a broad flat stone was on Drummee shore. When the corpse was placed on the stone it sailed of itself across the Shannon to Saints Island cemetery and when the corpse was taken off it sailed back again to Drummee. This stone carried every corpse that came to be buried in Saints Island for a number of years until some person, washed clothes on it and it never sailed again.
This stone is still to be seen on Drummee shore. It was seven feet long and four feet wide.- Bailitheoir
