- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)and gave a last look on his burning home, from the track of his knees a well burst up, and anyone that drank of this water would be cured from any disease. The well is not is use now. In another place on the Island there is a large stone with the track of a monks knee on it, and beside it there is a small drop of water which is always there, and this is a cure for any sore or disease.
- In this district about ninty or one hundred years ago, there were several old schools. There was school held in my townland, in a cow-house owned by Patrick Shanley. When the cows were let out, the children used to come and attend school. In other places it was held at the backs of ditches(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
