  1. There is an old tailor named Jas Connor living in the townland of Carrodger. He is fond of telling old stories and singing old songs. He told me this story one night and he is prepared to swear it is true.
There was once a man and his wife who lived in the bog of Coburn, and his name was Jimmy Hathe. One evening Jimmy started off for a bag of heath to bed the pigs. When he had the bag full, he started off for home. On his way home he met a man who told him that his brother was dying, and to come and see him, and Jimmy said "Wait until I go home and put on my good clothes." "No" said the man, "I will give you mine, won't they do you good enough?" "All right,"
